Getting Started

Dear Valued Customer, Irving’s Hardwood Furnishings would like to help take the stress out of your cabinet project. We appreciate you taking the time to read this information so that we may better assist you. What should you do first?
  • Call us at the number above to set up a time to come by our shop between the hours of 9am-5pm. You may bring us or email a rough drawing of your project or plans from your contractor or architect if applicable. You may browse our wood samples at this time.
  • We will set up a time for Perry to come over to your place to visit with you about your project and take preliminary measurements.
  • Perry will write up an estimate for the desired project. He will also provide you with drawings of your project. If you have not looked at samples yet, you can do it now.
  • One initial consultation, estimate, and drawing(s) per project is provided at no charge. After the initial consultation, any changes, additional estimates, additional drawings and additional consultations in person or by phone may be charged $120 per hour.
  • If you decide that you want Irving’s to do the job, we will require a deposit of 50% of your project before we begin construction. At this time we will determine your scheduling and approximate completion time of your project.
    • If your job has a RUSH factor, and can’t wait for standard scheduling, a RUSH charge will be added.
  • Methods of payment. We prefer to accept checks or a bank draft. We can accept credit cards, but we must charge 3.5% processing fee. A $30 charge will be placed on any returned checks. Payment is due upon completion of project unless previous arrangements have been made.
  • If your job will require electrical or plumbing changes, you or your building contractor will be responsible for contacting the electrician and/or plumber.
  • Our experienced staff builds your cabinets. If any changes are made after the cabinets are in production, a CHANGE ORDER charge will be added.
  • When the project is close to installation time, we will contact you to set up a time to deliver and install.
  • Please remove everything from any affected cabinetry before we come to install.
  • Please give our installers plenty of space and stay out of their way. We know watching is enjoyable, but we don’t want any injuries to take place.
  • Our installers may accept your final payment, you can stop by the shop, or mail us the final payment.
